Unidentified Coral - 17.09.08

In the "Fossil Photos" section of the Marloes guide, the penultimate photo shows an "unidentified coral". During my recent visit I found two corals absolutely identical to the one in this photo, and they are stunning to look at, especially under a magnifying glass. Would any other readers have any idea of the name of this specimin as I cannot identify it using my reference books.

Wonderful web site, keep up the fantastic work.

Marloes Sands - Phil Jones - 17.09.08

Visited Marloes Sands and was struck by the natural beauty of the area. Stunning coastal scene and vista, accentuated by lovely sunny day. I found few fossils at Marloes, but came away with three beautiful corals and one fossilised mussel. Long walk to the beach, but worth it for the views alone. Plenty of scree from the rock face and cliffs to sift through, but don't expect too much fossil wise. Take pleanty of food and drink with you as there are no shops for a few miles at least.
